Today’s lunchtime concert offers something special: two ensembles will be performing!

Trio Mannucci

Their backgrounds couldn’t be more diverse: an Italian flutist, a Mexican cellist, and a Chinese pianist. What brought Trio Mannucci together? Music, of course! They met in the inspiring and international environment of the Fontys Academy of the Arts. At the start of their master’s studies, they formed a trio under the guidance of flutist and conductor Leon Berendse, driven by a shared passion for making and sharing music. This afternoon, they will perform the Trio for Piano, Flute, and Cello by the German composer Carl Maria von Weber.

Hyacinthus Duo

The flute-cello duo Hyacinthus Duo focuses on 20th- and 21st-century music with contemporary, programmatic, and contrasting elements. Their repertoire includes works from the 1950s onwards, featuring composers from Brazil, Argentina, the United States, and Wales. With passion and dedication, this versatile duo explores the sonic possibilities of flute and cello, collaborating with composers on new pieces. Today, they will perform works by Astor Piazzolla and Katrina Emtage.
